Mission Control - Expose & Spaces

Has Apple bothered to fix Mission Control in Mountain Lion? By this I mean:

1) giving the option to ungroup all application windows in expose to show everything all at once?
2) hiding that ugly grey border and removing the space thumbnail when only ONE space is ever used?

I think changes are coming. Doesn't necessarily mean for the better unfortunately, though I don't know how they could make it worse. Did you notice that a clean install of mountain lion doesn't put mission control in the dock by default? Sure it could have been just to make room for the iOS like apps, but they kept dashboard???.... That just seems weird. With all the complaints about it I would be very surprised if they didn't make ANY changes to it..

The "surprise" is upon you. Complaints about removing Spaces/Expose' have been ongoing since Lion's release last year. If Apple had any intention of bringing them back (or a facsimile thereof), you would be playing with it right now in Mountain Goat.

The writing has been on the wall. It's all about the marriage of OSX/iOS for the casual "consumer" masses - the people that really pay Apple's bills. I suspected this for a long time but stubbornness & wishful thinking made me ignore it. Like I said in another thread... I'm glad Apple tipped their iOSX hand so early. Gives me time to consider new migration plans rather than sitting around hoping and waiting.

People complained about no three column address book or the missing dedicated calendars list in iCal and those were brought back. They could have easily readded them in Lion but they didn't because that would be admitting that they made a mistake and Apple is too conceited for that. Now they can release it in Mountain Lion and act like it was a new feature for a new OS. I'm not saying Spaces and Expose will come back just like they where, and fixing that MESS is going to take a little more work than what they did for "Contacts" and "Calendar"

You may be right, but I'm still holding out hope. I don't need to plan much if you are right... I came from Linux/BSD and I will just as easily go back, but I can get a lot of use out of Snow Leopard for a number of years yet I'm sure.

You are naive to believe this kind of petty emotion plays into the strategy of the world's largest company. Apple has a whimsical user experience plan, the vision of which is limited to an express "few". That's their problem. They can be accused of being short-sighted or even closed-minded but saying they withhold features out of arrogance just to piss us off is laughable. Also, the OSX team is surprisingly small. That in itself contributes to the "limited" features. Now if one would say they are blinded by too much success to care about OSX well... I might believe that.

I'm not naive. I didn't say they weren't doing it to "piss us off", I said returning those features to Lion would be a blatant "we ****ed up"... and they are simply not going to do that. Not Apple. Why else wouldn't they back port the new address book and calendar to Lion when so many people wanted those features that were already available in Snow Leopard? They just re-added them... it would probably take 5 minutes for them to be able to change the view of those apps on Lion, I don't care how small their OSX team is, its already done...

And I don't believe they have an "OSX team"... their developers work on practically everything, which is why OS X gets so neglected. Their money making projects have taken priority leaving no one to work on it.
