Mission Impossible: Trying to tether my iPad to my iPhone.

As the thread title says. I've been trying to tether my iPad to my iPhone and it never works. Tried restarting, tried many things and got maybe 5% success rate at best. Both devices are running latest iOS versions. Both are functioning properly otherwise, both are in close proximity to each other.

Apple, fix your software. We don't need new functions, we need the existing ones to work!

What are you doing to accomplish that and what exactly doesn't work with that?

The only issue I have tethering my iPad to my iPhone is that the hotspot will turn off and not show up after a period of inactivity, but otherwise it works great. Do you have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on for both devices?

What settings do you have enabled for both devices? There are a couple of ways to tether but if both devices are signed into iCloud, it should be very simple and I haven't had problems w/ it. I don't even have to turn on HotSpot on my iPhone. I just choose the iPhone on my iPad in the WiFi setting. It should just show up there and turns the HotSpot on on the iPhone automatically even if it's off. I have BT on on the iPhone but not iPad, just WiFi.

To be honest, I find the Instant Hotspot feature more unreliable than old-style bluetooth tethering.

Mines working great. On the iPhone, you’ll need to enable hotspot with Bluetooth and WiFi enabled. Then, just enable WiFi on iPad to connect to it. You’ll need at least a great cellular signal on the iPhone or else the iPad will experience a slow tether connection.

Or if both are signed into the same iCloud account, you will see the iPhone hotspot if enabled and just connect to it without password.
