Hi, I am just wondering... I have a powered mixer to run my mic's,keyboards, guitar. Will i be able to run that into the line in, and record and be able to hear the sounds live through the software. I can on my PC using Sonar but i used Cubase on my G5 and could only hear after i recorded, which is worthless when recording. Also i have keyboard that is running into my mixer, will i be able to use the GB sounds with that? Any help would be great.

From GarageBand Help Files:

Hearing your Real Instrument while you play (monitoring)

You can hear, or "monitor," input from a Real Instrument in GarageBand while you play and record the instrument. Monitoring lets you hear yourself play with the song so you can rehearse the part you want to record.

You can turn on monitoring for a Real Instrument track when you add the track. When you turn on monitoring, you hear the musical instrument or microphone connected to the track's input channel or channels. You can also turn monitoring on or off in the Track Info window.

.............

If you connect a microphone or instrument to your computer, you may want to turn off input monitoring when you're not playing or singing. When monitoring is turned on, your computer can pick up output from your speakers or monitors, causing undesirable feedback. Monitoring is off by default for this reason

From GarageBand Help Files:

New to this site, new to computers, can't even figure out how to
post my question so I'll out it here( you ARE a God, are you NOT?)

I record all my stuff with a Roland 1680 16-track digital recorder. My main
purpose for GarageBand is to be able to mixdown from the Roland to the G4
and GarageBand allows me to do this flawlessly.
The problem I've run into is in the 'export' function. When I export to Itunes,
GarageBand 'creates a mixdown' and ruins my song! How do I turn this
function off? I looked in GB Help, nothing. The sond is already Mixed when
when it goes from the Roland to GB. Any Help, Much appreciated! :) :) :)
