So AirPlay is only compatible with 2011 and newer Macs? That's kinda funny seeing how the MPs still have more power than the new MBPs. Anyway to enable it with an Apple TV 2/3? Never saw the icon popup on the menubar with my ATV2.

ML + AirPlay on 4,1 Mac Pro?

*facepalm*. Another of these threads... Really? Again, AirPlay mirroring utilizes Intels Quicksync technology that can only be found in integrated graphics chipsets in sandy bridge and ivy bridge processors. Since A. No Mac Pro uses ivy or sandy bridge processors and b. no Mac pro uses processors with integrated graphics then no AirPlay mirroring will not work. Search is your friend as well as apple's documentation on this VERY SUBJECT!
i believe airplay requires the intel quicksync or something that is on the integrated graphics from the hd3000 and hd4000. You can try using air parrot
