Hi,

I have a new Acer monitor, model is S240HL.

I am connecting my Mac to it via an HDMI cable and an HDMI adapter.

I have used my Macbook Air, the HDMI adapter and the cable many times in the past on my TV -however when I plug into my Acer monitor, the screen on the Macbook Air flickers but nothing happens.

Display settings don't show a second monitor, and nothing comes up on my monitor.

The monitor works fine with my other HDMI connections!

What to do?! :(

It depends on what year is your Macbook air, it it is mid-2010 and after you are good, it not ML does not work. My case is mid 2009 macbook pro, does not work but mid 2010 mbp works.

Update - it now see's the monitor, but the monitor just stays black. I have tried changing to 720p and 50hz and still nothing.

Maybe its a faulty monitor! :( The monitor is fine over VGA...

Further update - looks like the cable isn't working on this device! WTF! A different HDMI cable works fine... :/
