I recently got my iMac back from repairs and found that the technician had installed ML over Lion on my previously installed SSD. I am in Vietnam and this kind of thing is pretty common here. I have a CCC clone (external) from a week ago with 10.7.5 and I cloned it back to my internal 1TB and it seems to function properly.

My question is: Can I create a USB stick for ML if I have only the installed OS on my computer? I do not have the installation dmg.

I have mixed feelings about this but I can rationalize it because Apple has made it effectively impossible for me to buy and download ML because I can only access the Vietnam Appstore and when there I can't buy anything because I only have US credit cards. If I could I would buy it without hesitation. I am also pretty sure that upgrades will not be available. I may clone Lion back to my SSD too but I would like to have a copy of ML on hand if possible.

Odd, I am in Indonesia and have no problem accessing both my Home Appstore in the Netherlands and the one from US.
Or, maybe it is "blocked", if this is the case you need a VPN or proxy, although I think I proxy won't work either.

No and I have tried.

I have been unable to find anyone that sells them. That includes the Apple Authorized Resellers. It is odd because everything in the Vietnam App store and iTunes store is listed in US$. There are people on Alibaba.com that will sell you a code but I don't really trust them.

I have been around the block with Apple on this regarding updates and apps on my iPad and gave up after I got an email from someone who said she was a supervisor who basically said they were not going to help me. To me this is a real problem for Apple. In our modern age of international commerce there are a lot of people moving iPhones around. The Apple Community pages are full of complaints on this. Apple is loosing out to Android in Asia and this may be part of why.

Be sure never to go into your Apple ID account and change anything (unless you are home in the Netherlands.) If you do you may be locked out too and forced to use the store of whatever country your ISP is in. I don't know why Apple does this as a credit card should be universal world wide. I can use a US Visa or M/C anywhere in this country, just not at the Apple online stores.

I until now did not have this problems but I think they do this because of fraud.

just a little story I had with Ebay/Paypal, I had to order something small from the UK, it did not allow me to send it to Indonesia directly, so I had it send to the netherlands and then onwards to Indonesia, wanted to pay but it took me a day to do so, had enough money on Paypal to pay for it but just got errors, after some communication Paypal Netherlands said it was because I was in Indonesia (due to security), tried a Proxy server but this did not work, then I got a free 2 hours VPN, this did the trick but was annoyed by the trouble it took.
