Hello,

Has anyone tried Mountain Lion on a Mid 2007 MBP? How is the performance, temperatures, fans? Mine is currently on Snow Leopard, but thinking of upgrading it to Mountain Lion, so wanted to see if anyone has done the upgrade. I'm also interested in opinions on whether it's worth upgrading this old MBP to ML. (I'm already going to buy ML to upgrade my MBA.)

Thanks.

I've got a late '06 with Lion (I think you have to have Lion before you can get ML, BTW) and Snow Leopard is faster on that machine than Lion. I wouldn't take it to Mountain Lion. It's a 17" 2.33GHz Core 2 Duo machine.

Thanks for the warning.

Anyone else care to share their experience with ML?

ML runs far better than Lion did on my mid-2007 17" 2.4Ghz C2D 4GB RAM MBP (3,1). Snow Leopard flew, Lion introduced noticeable lag. Swapping the stock hard drive for an OWC SSD did wonders and made it feel like a new machine, even on Lion, though animations would still sometimes stutter. A clean install of ML on the SSD and it feels like Snow Leopard days again (minus Spaces, grrr). If your machine is supported by ML, it's a question between SL and ML. Don't bother with Lion.
