ML redeem content code - won't expire?

So I've just registered for the up-to-date code for a free upgrade to ML and received the email for the password/content code. I'm just clarifying with all you wise ol' long-term Apple users as to whether this definitely does not expire as the email claims.

I'm hesitant to upgrade my MBA for now as I'm still waiting on my external hard drive to back up all the materials, and probably won't do the ML upgrade until a little while after I receive my external hard drive.

So when I do choose to upgrade using the content code in 2 or 3 weeks from now, would I still be entitled to the upgrade free-of-charge?

using the code doesn't force you to install ML right away it just reduces the price to free, if they expire i would just redeem it now and download when you want

Duff-Man says...as the up-to-date program does have a limit, I agree that your best course is to redeem and download - it does not make you install right away, just downloads the installer to your computer. If space is a concern, back up the installer to DL-DVD (good idea anyway especially if bandwidth is an issue as it is for some) and install when you are ready. At very least, redeem...you don't want to lose the opportunity for that....oh yeah!

Don't even need to bother with the download, just use the code so you then have ML under your "Purchased" list.

Sorry to bump an old post but does this mean I can redeem it on any Mac even if it's not the one I intend to install it on?

Reason is I bought an iMac (the one about to be replaced) but it's an Xmas present which we haven't opened yet. I submitted the claim to Apple within 30 days using the serial # on the box so that I could get the code. Should I download it on another iMac so I get it in my purchase history, and then transfer it to the new iMac on Christmas?

Yes... it is attached to your AppleID, not the computer. So you can redeem it to your account now and when you start the App Store with your AppleID on the new machine you will see it on your list available for DL.
