Hi there,

I just ordered a new MBA and I'm very excited about it. However, I heard about the Up-to-Date program. But I don't quite understand how it will work.

The apple site says
Customers must request their Up-to-Date upgrade within 30 days of purchasing their Mac computer

But how do I request request it? Will I just have to open up the Mac App store, or something different?

And another question, for those of you who participated in the Lion Up-to-Date program: Were you able to install Lion on multiple macs, or just the new one?

Thanks for your help,
DaDalle

It won't. I had the same thing when I bought my upgraded iMac last year...The up to date program will ensure that you get a copy of ML...Even if the release date slips, which it won't....I predict ML public release on or around 15th July.

Even if it comes 90 days later – you have a date on your receipt (which you will need when you go back to that page). The system recognizes you qualify for the program and will get the copy for free. I had the same with Lion last year.
Do keep in mind that if you try right when ML is released, you may run into system issues as their servers will hog up. I came back the day after and the whole process was calm and easy.

Thanks for the replies.

but what about my second point? Will I be able to install this on a second mac?

I too am interested in tis.

But am no wiser as to ho to 'request' the upgrade within 30 days of the purchase.

I can't see any 'request' link or button.

Anyone?

:)

I think it will be on the site once ML is out. Would be nice if someone who had done this with Lion last year would reply here.

Not even that, you have 30 days after ML comes out to apply; so everyone has plenty of time before and after

re:
30 days from the OS X Mountain Lion release date to make a request.
