For the last couple of years, I have been using a different DNS to avoid local blackouts. However they have apparently updated the app to use GPS instead of DNS to verify where you are. Doesn't anyone know of a work around to this?

If you are Jaibroken which you should be by posting in this forum, search Cydia for LocationFaker. It costs a few dollars but it does work as far as faking where you are. You can verify it through Google Maps or Apple maps.

If you have a TV subscription you should be able to stream in local markets now on the fox sports app.

I don't have a TV subscription. That's why I've been using MLB at bat and changing the DNS. The app works fine on my Apple TV. Just not on my iPhone. Plus I'm watching the Oakland A's and they are on Comcast Sportsnet

Try this:

In the settings, disable the MLB app from accessing location services. Next, turn on airplane mode and then manually turn only wifi back on. With your DNS unblocker all set up as usual, it should work.

That sounds like it might work. I'll try that when they play tonight and let you know.

Go A's! disappointing game last night, though.

Doesn't work unfortunately. It just sits on the verifying location screen
