Hey all,

Today I got an email from MLB with the notice of select games free the next few days on MLB TV. I tried viewing a game currently on and shown to be free in the email, on my ATV and got a "media error".

Just wondering if anyone else has ween this, and if we do or do not get the free games on the ATV?

Thanks

For those with DirecTV...

MLB ExtraInnings is free from 3/31 through 4/10....all games.

Anyone on ATT concerned about the data caps starting May 1st? Last year with the MLB package I watched at least one game nearly every day. How much data is downloaded streaming one HD game? With the data caps, I'm not sure it's worth it to renew.

Mlb tv

I received the same email. I signed up for an account a while back and had the same error initially today: "Media Error." Logged out and back in on ATV and all was well.

Over all, the video was acceptable. I have a few devices sharing a 7 Mbps Qwest DSL connection. At times there were many artifacts on the stream. At times it was near HD quality. I'm not quite sure if it's something I would actually pay for to watch my home team as of now, but it was a good test.

MLB.tv has been outstanding for me so far this spring. Most games have been in SD, but the few which are broadcast and streamed in HD have looked great.

I have a Roku and an aTV, used the Roku extensively last year for MLB.tv and I can tell you from direct experience that the aTV has a better picture and holds the stream well.

I'm glad to have both this year, an inexpensive backup is always welcome.

MLBTV is not for watching your home team. Home team games are blacked out in their home area. Even road games. MLBTV is for people who want to watch as much baseball as possible, or who follow an out of market team.
