MM Gallery - Faces and Places in iPhoto?

I have a few of my MobileMe galleries set up on my MacBook Air's iPhoto (they were originally uploaded from my desktop Mac's iPhoto). On the desktop Mac, they have all the places and faces sorted, but they haven't been transferred over when I look at them on the MacBook Air, and I can't find any way of adding either (although Faces does seem to scan the photos that are there).

Is there any way I can set up Faces and Places on the MobileMe Gallery photos in my iPhoto?

Ok, but is it possible to apply Faces / Places "locally" in iPhoto, if you know what I mean? So that I can still use it within iPhoto?

You'll need to import them locally first.
