Hi,

Just got my new MM , looking for a screen also can buy a 27" Apple TB screen , what is the advantage from having a thunderbolt connection against a DVI, VGA ,HDMI connection if there is any .

Or is the Dell U2711 or U2713 a better option , price of the Apple TB will be the same .

The Dell U2711 is sold for about EUR 600, while the TB display will cost you EUR 950.

The TB display has the advantage of a built in camera and a TB hub (which is useless for now as there are no TB devices available). Furthermore it looks nicer. On the downside it's glossy which makes it unusable for many applications and environments.

The Dell has the same panel but non-glossy. However it doesn't look as nice.

I'll go for the Dell as I hate glossy screens.

Thx

Wel i can buy a 1 year old TB screen for €550 looks brand new .

I working on a IMAc now so i use to the glossy screen , i can make my room dark if necessary.

> However it doesn't look as nice.
thats true , the display will be in my living room so ....

But is there a advantage from connecting the TB display and the Mini by thunderbolt cable over DVI,AGV or HDMI , is the quality of the picture better ?

I have theTB display, its downright awesome with the advantage of acting as a hub for variuos ports.
Like yoursef, i came from a 27" imac and find I much prefer this screen to the imac. Lools real classy.

The hp zr2740w is a much better/cheaper option and has much better colour calibration than the dells. It's Full 8bit RGB
