Anyone here also think Apple/AT&T May have leaked the Carrier Update file a little while back so that the network and some users got a test run before today? Just a thought.

I'm sure some companies do this and I was just wondering what you guys/gals thought.:apple:

No. Stop it with this theories, it adds to the clutter of already ensuing MMS threads.

The 5.2 was not an Apple/AT&T leak, it was a modified/hacked file to enable MMS.

MMS threads are so yesterday. It's time to move on to bitching about something else.

a) We don't need ANOTHER MMS thread.

b) It wasn't leaked, it was modified carrier file.

Or maybe they gave it to some people...

AT&T and its MMS partners are already seeing "record traffic during peak hours of the night" with just the users selected for testing.

That early testing has been a little rocky, with AT&T seeing a fairly significant test outage yesterday that has them rushing to beef up their MMSC messaging servers. Estimates among those working on the project are that traffic on AT&T's wireless network will be about 40% higher all day on Friday as iPhone users fire pictures and video at one another.

Obviously they did. AT&T has to test for their services. Example, see the AT&T Femtocell solution. AT&T had it in testing for like 6 months prior to releasing it. There are always testers. However, that doesn't mean the .ipcc floating was leaked. It was hacked/modified.

Also, remember it was the testers and the people who got MMS ahead of time traffic, so yes, I agree there could have been extra traffic. Better, since that way AT&T ramped up their MMCS servers.

I'm sorry gentlemen but this is the calm before the storm. It's only going to get worse from here. ;)

OP- NO! on the conspiracy theory. Absurd.

You are right about that. The question now it WHAT will we bitch about now?

I think I will make a thread for that ;).
