Since iOS 14.2 I'm getting an error message saying the media can not be sent and that I need to turn on MMS but it's on.
This is only happening if I'm sharing photos and videos in the Messages app and seems to mostly be happening when sending photos or short videos to people who have Android phones.
I did reset the network in Settings>General>Reset but that doesn't help.
Any ideas?

I"m still getting this error message.

Apple refuses to support MMS exchange with Android, since iMessages/Messages go through Apple servers. If you google it, you'll find lots of tech discussions on this in apple's own support forums. It's infuriating.

MMS and SMS messages do not go through Apple servers as those are carrier-based protocols.

If you are in a group Text conversation, no MMS will be accepted. My carrier says Apple points fingers back to carriers, but it's really an iMessage issue. The Apple support forums are full of threads on this.

If you are in a conversation that involves non-Apple devices then iMessage wouldn't be involved (unless perhaps those non-Apple devices are using phone numbers that were previously associated with iMessage somehow and haven't been de-registered since then for some reason).
