I did a search, and hope this hasn't already been posted.
I had to call Business Services this a.m. At the end of our conversation, I tried to get him to turn on Wap Push. He said he couldn't.
He said: 'On Sep 25, you will receive a Txt Msg from AT&T with instructions for enabling MMS'. When I went to question him, he just repeated that sentence. Maybe not word for word (can't remember the exact wording), but this is essentially what he said. Not stellar info, but interesting.

If AT&T do the same as o2 u will be asked to update then send a txt to a five digit number so there system knows to switch from net based mms to phone mms.

Probably not the same as O2.

I have the 5.1 carrier file already and was able to get the MMS block off my account. It works like a champ.

Not sure how O2's system works but for ATT There was two things currently stopping most people. One ATT has a "switch" so to speak on every iPhone account that has to be flipped for their system to allow your iPhone to send MMS.

And the second is a little file that gets updated to your iphone (the same way OS updates happen) but a a separate update which is how I already got the file on my iPhone. This file basically tells the iPhone OS it's ok to allow MMS to show in the menu's etc.

There better be an apology text shortly after.

Then maybe some hot 'sexting' going on between us, through MMS of course.

I may or may not call them again after 3 days. Im not looking for anything serious here.

It's simple, just hit update on iTunes and see how your iPhone is updated and MMS enabled.

Funny how this was the same thing I was told, oh say 3 months ago by AT&T, right after I found out that I had the MMS opt out on my account. Guess that AT&T rep knew what they were talking about.

If I could only remember her name...

The question that I have is should I keep the hack file that got my mms working or should I restore and used the AT&T update.

That is becuase he works in a call center and only knows what the computer tells him. You not going to find out anymore information no matter how many times you call customer service.. they just don't know....

Believe it, or not, I have talked to a few people in the Business Customer Center that have been VERY knowledgeable in the past. I probably would have been able to get what I wanted today if I would have called back. The person today sounded very much like he was in another country. My guess, India. That was unusual as that is not normally the case with the Business Customer Service.

Yes I would agree with that. That is unusual with the Business Customer Service group. I call them directly with any issues. They are probably the most knowledgeable out of all the Customer Care groups there.

Update to the official file unless you're one that also had tethering working.

Maybe I should update. I haven't really used tethering as much. I just tested it to see if it was working and that was it. Won't really depend on it. Thanks for the advice!
