Why hasn't there been a class action lawsuit on Apple's refusal to support MMS image exchange with Android phones?

There should be some sort of fallback for non-apple participants if they insist on being the middleware, no?

What issues are you having? I can receive mms images from android phones with no problems.

Why? Because Apple does support MMS. It's right there on my phone: Settings > Messages > SMS/MMS > MMS Messaging. No problems using it.

HOWEVER, SMS and MMS are services provided by cellular carriers, not Apple. Not every cellular carrier provides MMS, and it's also possible that MMS is an extra-cost option with some providers. If the cellular carrier does not support MMS (or if it is not set up correctly in your cellular service plan) it will not show up in your settings.

So if you don't see MMS in your messages settings, contact your phone provider.

Rather than starting a post by demanding a call to action for a lawsuit that just would be dismissed anyway, why don't you describe the issues you are having?

He’s probably talking about image and video compression. Some androids can send larger files now without issues similar to iMessage but I don’t think it works between iPhone and android.

That sounds like more of an MMS limitation. It's possible that some Android messaging which supports something else might be happening using something other than regular MMS.

All I know is: if you are in a group Text conversation that contains both iPhones and at least one Android, no MMS will be accepted into the chat from an iPhone. My carrier says Apple points fingers back to carriers, but it's really an iMessage issue. The Apple support forums are full of threads on this.

I thought this was resolved with the latest iOS and carrier updates? Mine doesn’t have that problem anymore on At&t and my 12pm.

My company sends out 20 person group messages all the time, with both iPhone and Android users, and all pictures come in just fine from all users. What carrier are you with?

Maybe you can contact your local lawyer and see what venues would work for your lawsuit?

We need a class action lawsuit to vanish android for good.
What we need is a class action to vanish MMS for good. :D it’s an outdated standard that has too many variables and issues. In my country, nobody uses MMS (or even SMS) anymore once the likes of WhatsApp exist. My Android messages app is only filled with ads and spam, and occasional OTPs.

Someone else mentioned it above me, but I’m thinking OP is referring to compression? Another member also mentioned above that some android devices allow for rich texting now. Less compression and pixelation between Android and iOS devices. This is carrier-dependent though. RCS was supposed to be the Android equivalent. However, it’s not fully adopted and Apple hasn’t signed on for it. MMS isn’t broken, but I agree it should be banished lol
