MMS on 3G iPhone with Original ATT Data Plan?

Those that are using the 3G iPhone with the original ATT data plan ($20) - has anyone updated it to enable it to use MMS - my fear is that MMS can be detected by ATT and they will find those on the early plans and force them to upgrade to the 30 dollars a month.

Any thoughts? - can ATT see if you send an MMS vs an SMS

You can't send an MMS on the original $20 data plan. AT&T has them disabled. I was on the $20 plan and my MMS would not work till I upgraded to the $30 plan.
