MMS problem on iOS 10.1

So this just started happening once I updated to iOS 10.1 on my iPhone 7 plus. Every time an android user sends me a picture, a new chat window is created with the person that is sending the text and myself included instead of just continuing the thread on the regular one. Is this a feature or something that I can fix? Cause it's really annoying

I've had it happen a couple times when receiving a pic from both Android and an iOS user. The iOS user is running iOS 10.1. I did reboot the phone which hadn't been done since updating to iOS 10.1. The problem hasn't happened since.

This was happening with group texts with me when I received my 7 plus. I had to delete all threads with recipients and the new texts that came through were normal.

deleted all the threads and did a hard reset to the phone. It fixed it! thanks guys!
