The first MMS I sent was received quickly, and I got a fast response. I've sent more testing to friends and asked them if they got them, and after 10+ minutes they still haven't, although my phone shows it as having been sent.

Are other people experiencing finnicky MMS if your MMS works?

If you're in the USA - perhaps it's because the service isn't yet available until the 25th and unreliable until then?!

If youre in the USA and applied a hack - are you really expressing concern NOW vs waiting a few days to see if it clears up?

Wow are people impatient

In the US AT&T have been rolling out MMS in select markets.

I've been noticing that as well. Sometimes I'll send a message, and it will show up as failed on my end. But the person I sent it to actually received it. Plus many other issues..... Considering it's AT&T, I doubt it will clear up when MMS is official. It'll likely be an ongoing problem for awhile. Just my opinion though.

Not without applying a 'hack' of some sort.

Exactly. And isn't it at least REMOTELY possible that the authenticated and official carrier release COULD have differences than the one floating out there as part of this hack. Isn't it possible that AT&T has tweaked and/or finalized something internally in the file? Perhaps the 5.1 file floating around isn't exactly the full/complete file?

That's why I'm happy to wait. And if there's an issue AFTER that file is released then that's one thing. But using any hack before then entitled NO ONE to complain about service, etc re: MMS.

I haven't had any issues so far but to be honest I've never been 100% confident with any MMS I've ever sent on any phone or network. Even SMS isn't 100% reliable.

I dont see why people are calling the carrier file a "hack." Its not. Installing Cydia and JBing is hacking it. Applying a file that will be availabile in the future is not a hack.

It's a hack because the file may or may not be the final release and is not an approved modification for your iPhone. On the 25th, in the US - ATT will have an official release of whatever carrier file OFFICIALLY enables MMS on their network.
