Hi everyone, I've been using the iPhone 3GS on a family plan (2nd line), and when I checked the bill, it shows only a $4.50 discount on my line. Since there is a FAN discount of 15%, I assume the $9.99 voice doesn't get discounted and the $29.99 data does. In addition, I have a 200 msg iPhone plan for $5, which also doesn't get discounted.

My question is that if I upgrade to the unlimited or 1500 iPhone text plan, is there a FAN discount of 15%?

Thanks!

I have the unlimited messaging plan for group/family plan ($30/month) and I don't receive the FAN discount so I don't think you'll see that.

FAN discounts only apply to the voice plan and not data or text packages. normally the discount only applies to the MAIN number as well

On my Family Plan (Business FAN), they only give the discount on the First Line minutes. There is NO discount on the additional lines, on the Data Plan, or Unlimited Messaging. One other note, even though they have a Family Nationwide Plan for 2 lines, on the Business Account, they do not bill that way. They Bill for One Phone, discount the Shared Minutes, and then charge for each of the additional lines at the full charges.

Edit: Sorry for the double post. As I typed, the info was posted in the preceding reply.

As noted above- the FAN are all different. My get 18% on both voice and data- but no discount on 'features' like SMS/MMS.

From what I've read, the plans usually come in the form of x% discount on voice only or y%discount on both voice and data.

I think I read that the biggest FAN discount is 28% on each voice and data. I believe Coke Cola employees, among others, get this.

I get 21% off voice and data on my family plan with 3 lines. The guy at the AT&T store looked puzzled as I showed him a bill I had questions on. Every FAN is different.

Why would you want 15% off the 1500 text plan? Most FAN accounts are eligible for the code "TMS4" which is 1500 texts for 7.99 a month.

TMS4 has been discontinued for a while now.

TMS4 is a B2B plan. The B2B plans are apparently SMS only and do not support MMS.
