I have an intermittent problem with mobile data access on my 5 SE. Mostly I can access internet and e-mails etc with a reasonable 4G or, more slowly, 3G signal. However from time to time in certain locations, with a good 4G signal, I get a message that says mobile data is not available, use WiFi or enable Mobile Data in Settings (which it is!) I have discovered that if I first disable Mobile Data then restart the phone and re-enable Mobile Data it then works just fine, and this irritating routine has worked every time I have tried it.

Does anyone have any ideas why this should happen and if there is any way to ensure that it doesn't in future

Try removing and reinstalling the simcard if that doesn’t work then try resetting the network settings:

Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

Note: You’ll lose access to all the WiFi networks you are currently connected to, you’ll have to manually connect to them by reentering the password.

Thanks, I will give that a try, intermittent problems are always tricky to sort out as it can take quite a while before you are fairly sure it's fixed.
