I have a completely view of Apple now. I've always been a PC user, but loved the iphone, so I thought I'd give Mobile Me a try. I've never seen a bigger mess in my life. I feel like I'm dealing with some third rate application I downloaded off the internet. I can't believe they even consider themselves in competition with Microsoft in any way. There's no comparison. People came down on Microsoft a few years back for trying to saturate the market with their products. But that's not half as bad as trying to CONTROL people.

As far as I'm concerned, Apple has overstayed their welcome. Mobile me is going back.

Since when has Apple forced you to use your @me.com address on your iPhone, or for that matter, MobileMe in general? They don't constantly badger you to use it or buy it. You can use all of your other email addresses and MobileMe is not the only "One-Click" setup on the mail app.

Okay, first of all it would help to use correct wording.
Second of all, the service hasn't even been up for a week. You're complaining because there are over 100,000 people trying to get online and do the same thing you are at once. Apple is trying to work out their issues as fast as they can. Having Push services isn't the most easiest thing to do either. That's why only a select few offer it now. It's going to have issues, but Apple is fixing them.

Also, they aren't forcing anyone to do anything.

Mobile Me is not the end of Apple I can tell you that. You may want to try it agine now that the servers are fully online. But a few people are still having problems so you may want to contact apple of you are. Also you can use @mac.com or @me.com. If you really want to get the full efect you need a mac. It is supported on a pc but it works best with a mac. Also it is still in the begging and things will change as time rolls by.

there are a lot of issues with this posting......
i would think as a pc user for a while you would be used to new initiatives from a company to come out with many many bugs. (vista!!!!!!!!) it hasnt even been a week and it will be fine. as far as mobile me you do not have to use that at ALL if you dont want. in what way do you feel forced to use it?

Yeah there has been issues, but I love MobileMe. I must admit, I don't use the Web Interface much and simply use it for the 'Push' between Mac and iPhone (Or iPhone and Mac, if you're going to b like that) but no one forces you to use it. And it's the beginning of the end of what? So they've had a less than successful launch... It happens and they've given something back. Handled very well IMO.

although its a bit extreme to say the beginning of the end, I sort of agree that this experience has changed my view of apple products completely.

before, I thought that apple was always about user-experience and that you paid a premium on their products, because they always made sure things "just worked."

MobileMe, or .mac over the years i guess, is a complete reversal of that observation. MobileMe is unfinished, buggy, unstable, and far from intuitive!

I still have high hopes for this service though. I hope Apple does the right thing, follow through with fixing all the bugs, release all promised features, and there's quite a few additional features that they need to add in order to make a full fledged "exchange for everyone else" competitor.

While I don't advocate the sit-and-wait approach that some are suggesting (because really, people need to let Apple know whats wrong so they can fix it), I am seeing general improvements to the service over time, and a glimmer of hope in the coming weeks. I think they deserve a little bit more time before anyone can start heralding the end of the apple era.

You're using a free trial of a new product and you're complaining why?

Sure, apple made claims about what mobileme was going to be, but you got it for free, so if you don't like it, cancel your free trial and move along.

Beginning of the end for apple? Give me a break drama queen.

I'm lost.. When I got MSN messenger, I was forced to make a hotmail.com email to sign in. How is this any different from a me.com address?

Now quit being a troll and go back to where you came from.

Please don't feed the troll. Besides, there are countless similar rants everywhere at the mo so thread closed due to boredom.
