I'm sorry, I know this is a useless rant, but what the ***** Apple.

Who schedules a 2-hour maintenance window in the middle of the damn day on a work day. I live in NY (eastern time) and now I can't access my email/calendar from 10am to noon. Who does that?

I know they're updating it for the iOS 4.2 update but I can't help but think Google would have done this update silently with no interruption of service. Way to go Apple.

I'm canceling my mobile me account today, as soon as service is restored. Use find my iPhone free with my apple ID and Google/dropbox for everything else...

I believe it is only the web interface that is out. I can still get emails on the IMAP clients. Calendars may be the same way.

Right. I can receive emails on my iPhone. But that doesn't help when I need to email a set of documents to someone from my computer.

Do you have your mobile me account set up in an email client, or do you use the web interface? Personally, I virtually never use the web for MM email.

As AzureCloud said, I'm pretty sure it's only the web interface that was out. That said, it would've been out for everyone at that time and it's not Apple's fault that you live in a timezone where it affects your work day. They notified everyone long beforehand.
