This is kind of a pointless poll to do at this point, since I don't think the service is completely working for anyone right now. I think everyone would agree that it's been garbage thus far and that most would agree that it'll be pretty sweet once they fix it.

Well, they can always vote later, but I can understand that it may be a little sketchy because of the bugs it will effect the voting.

As a Note, Vote according to the features in MobileMe, because bugs can be ironed out.

The launch and early use- it blows.

Long term- time will tell.

I'd hate to be the project manager at Apple responsible for its launch. Think he's got a few calls from Steve this weekend?

It sucked at first because Push wasn't working. But last night I was able to access my contacts and calendar online, and, voila!, push started working for my iPhone 3G!

Well if we're voting strictly on feature set with no bias towards the disasterous start, then I absolutely love it. I bought another year's subscription with my new iPhone last night, which'll extend me until December of 2009. I have complete faith in Apple to get this running like they said it would, and since I have my MBP at home, my PC at work, and my iPhone 3G, having them all synced through Push is amazing.

What do you guys think of it?

Its obviously got some glitches, but honestly, this is a dream come true for me. Got it going last night with my new 3G and convergence and seamless email between my MacBookPro and iPhone is a wonderful thing. Contacts and calendar have synced nicely. Obviously, its got some glitches, but I'll give them a pass on a few days to get my dream right.

If we think about it, Apple rolled out an amazing level of stuff this week. Perhaps too ambitious to get it all right on the first day. Yeah, they got a black eye for it, but I am really impressed with MobileMe and my new phone (white 16GB by the way).

Love it its great but there is one thing I HATE the new idisk icon is so out of place PURPLE doesn't fit in with the other icons I would love the purple to be replaced with blue. Not only does it stick out like a sore thumb but is is so ugly. Purple doesn't work they seriously need a different icon color.

Right now, it is an absolute joke

I think in the future it will be a big success for Apple but at the moment they can't even take baby steps without falling over

I am wondering why people are having no problems with MobileMe, but others are having heck.

I have an iMac. Does it have problems with Macbook and other Apple computers?

Outside of the launch issues I haven't had any problems with it. And it works really well with my iPhone so it's possible I shell out the money for it.

I think Mobile Me still needs some more work. It continues to be a little slow for me and I'd like to see the iDisk file sharing feature implemented.

Also, for some reason I can't seem to cache my username and password on the MobileMe login page using Firefox, but this might be an issue on my end.

So I guess I'm in the middle at the moment.

It was ok at first (after the change to .me, was a .mac user for nearly a year), but now I still cannot access any mail online and still have trouble getting into my account at all. It's seriously frustrating as I have such high hopes for this to work well, not just for me but for our family's needs. Yes, I'm willing to wait through the mess but it's frustrating. Thankfully my main email is gmail so .me is backup/family stuff.

:(

Sorry for you Bijou, my wife, my 2 kids & myself have the same troubles and frustrations (we are part of the supposed only 1% unhappy).

My dotmac was doing just what i needed and all my family was very happy with it. Some says we are dumb/ass etc...

I've just subscribed today to a FREE gmail account for each member of my family. I could (and probably should) have done that earlier. As an (ex) Apple fan and good customer for 20 years, I TRUSTED Apple company and I preffered to pay 150 Euros/year for a simple webmail whith Apple dotmac and a few goodies like Address book / Bookmarks / homepage / and groups, than a Microsoft / google or Yahoo webmail.

The reason i will not renew my DotMac is that I've been forced by Apple to transfer to Mobile me, it is not acceptable and unlawfull (at least in Belgium and some European countries, whatever some ignorants think):
- As a customer I want to be FREE to decide myself what service I will subscribe to,
- Mobile me IS a DIFFERENT service (NO homepage / and NO groups) with a different layout and a different name. This product fullfill different needs for other customers more "nomad/mobile" than me. Maybe in the futur I could be interested but not right now.
- most of all, I had to upgrade one of our family Apple computer and I will have to do this again in 6 months time or buy a new one if it continues like that. A family cannot cope with spendings like that and the time consumed in IT management at home.
- I was supposed to have 30 days free and, not surprisingly... I've received nothing,
- I've send letters, filled online forms on Apple site and called support: NO ANSWER / NO HELP, it is just a disgrace.
- I've been said by Apple to use the appropriate selection here: http://www.apple.com/feedback , and as you can see by yourself there is NO feedback section devoted to dotMac or Mobile Me, is it serious ???

Now I'm done, and like other people I will not renew my dotmac account expiring in 2 days.
This is the least I can do today and I will do more: hundred of thousand of Apple paying customers are in the same situation in Europe and elsewhere. (for more details: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/529041/)

Good luck for the "Apple huggers" who are happy with having to spend thousands of £/$/Euros... to keep in touch with what some call "innovation" and continue to have faith in the Apple church, not seeing they are enslaved.

And please - for those people who will certainly tell me not to moan etc... - stop to loose your time whining about whiners like me.
There is freedom of expression around here.

Nothing against you Bijou. Just very for us all.

Stillborn and brain dead

I'm now forwarding me.com/mac.com email to my GMail account. I gave up on the calendar almost immediately, since it doesn't support subscribed calendars (had to turn push off on my iPhone because I lost the subscribed calendars I need).

I like having the 20 GB of space, but for everything else Gmail/Google is better.
