Quick question,

Right now I use Google (Mail, Calendar, Reader, Picasa, and Docs), and I am trying to figure out if the $99 a year for mobile me is worth it?

I am able to sync my calendar and contacts with Google Active Sync.

So the big question, what makes MobileMe worth the price?

thanks Jim

I don't think its worth it for you unless you have an iPhone and the features are useful for you.

I didnt renew my subscription because I realized I was using only the mail function of it. I didn't have use for any of the other features at the time, however, now I'm buying a new iPhone and I'll be renewing.

What's nice for you is your data is all on a free service and safe there. Once you start using a paid service all your data builds up and when you decide you've had enough like I did, you don't know where to start with collecting it and backing it up JUST incase. Then you have to worry if you forgot something. If the system works for you, keep it unless there is something in particular that you like about mobileme.

Like they say, "if it ain't broken, don't fix it"

Being able to use it with an iPhone or the user interface, it just looks so much better than Google's line of applications.

You can sync your contacts and calendars with Mobile Me as well using the MobileMe control panel on Windows.

The cost is more like $68 on Amazon for a single user license. About $90 for a family plan for 5 users if other in your family need it.

Like others, I think the main use is if you have an iPhone. If not, not sure it is worth it.

Also, if you like Google then I think they may offer Mail (like Contacts and Calendar Active Sync) in the near future. You may want to check on the status of that.

Well with the limited functions of Google's contacts, if leaves me wondering...

I will have to think about it.

Right now I sync google calendar down to my macbook ical, and onto my itouch cal.

I will be getting the phone towards the end of the summer.
