So...I dont know if this is known yet or not...or if its already been discussed, but I was just talking to the lead architect of Nehalem at Intel yesterday, and he just let me know that the dual-core mobile Nehalem cpus will be released this October, and the quad-cores this next January.

oh...sorry i probably should have mentioned that. he's my uncle. we were talking at my grandma's house yesterday.

Wow this is the cake of all rumors.
No more talking to Apple, now we're talking to the chip makers!

I thought they postponed it to first quarter of 2010 to allow retailers to sell more core 2 duo models.

that may be true. he is an architect, not part of Intel's marketing. But this is the info that he gave to me just yesterday.

I'll bring a quiche. I make a mean quiche. I cheat a little, though; I just draw a mean face on it.

Sounds about right, though. Clarksfield and Arrandale, respectively; though I don't believe they'll be using Clarksfield at all.
