http://www.dailytech.com/Intel+Plans+Mobile+QuadCore/article8752.htm

the first mobile penryn cpu w/ quad core will be released around the same time Montevina does BUT....

the current Core 2 Santa Rosa's Meroms have a TDP of 35 Watts

Now Penryn's Mobile Quad Core's TDP is 45 Watts?

Is it feasible to put that "4 core whore (quoted from Al Diblasi)" Chip into today's Macbook Pro?

Quad Core in a MBP would be nice....

People have talked about this before with no definitive answer. I am not sure the power supply has 10 watts slack to give. As for actually putting it in, you can't (CPU is soldered to motherboard) but maybe Apple will.

Good to know that they will be socket P replaceable. Alu iMac owners: open your wallets.

"Intel targets the mobile quad-core Penryn for 2H’08 with the arrival of Montevina. Expect mobile quad-core processors to most likely show up in desktop replacement notebooks as a Core 2 Extreme model."

Is Macbook Pro considered as a desktop replacement notebook? Dell's 22" notebook is labeled as so, but not Macbook Pro.

ANyway, it's bound to get hot.
