I have a photo album in my MobileMe gallery that has these settings:
Code:
Allow:
   Yes: Downloading of photos, movies or entire album
   Yes: Uploading of photos or movies via web browser
   Yes: Adding of photos via email or iPhone
Show
   Yes: Photo or movie titles
   Yes: Email address for upload photos
Advanced:
   No: Hide album on my Gallery page
In other words, it's supposed to be fully available for public use. Sure enough, when a visitor goes to the album, the Download, Upload, and Send to Album options are enabled.

If visitors upload a jpeg, the upload seems to complete. If they email a jpeg to the address shown, the email goes thru without bouncing. But in neither case do the photos show up in the album. (The images aren't huge so it's not that they are over MobileMe's filesize limit.)

Anybody else have this problem?

Strangely, it started working, then stopped again. I'm doing systematic experiments to look for the pattern.

I discovered that the failed photo submissions were producing mail server bounce-back messages saying
----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<xxxx-xxxx@post.me.com>
(reason: 521 5.2.1 Fatal failure of WOA)
I found Apple discussions about it (example). Some seem to indicate that certain email clients produce the problem. But Mail.app from Snow Leopard should certainly work. It seems that nobody got an answer that explained or solved the problem. :(
