Hi All, I have an unusual issue going on between my MobileMe and my Comcast account.

I've been a .Mac member for five years now, and I do understand MobileMe is having issues with different things at the moment. I have been very fortunate that all of my email accounts, MobilMe, Yahoo, Gmail, & Comcast have been making it to my iPhone either by push or fetch. And MobileMe also works properly on my Mac.

When I first got my phone I wanted to test and be sure push/fetch was indeed working. But, if I send an email from my Comcast mail account on my Mac to my MobileMe email account I get an error message as follows:

From: MAILER-DAEMON@mac.com
Subject: Returned mail: see transcript for details
Date: July 21, 2008 3:16:37 PM EDT
To: username@comcast.net

----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
<username@adelphia.net>
(reason: 550 Invalid recipient: <username@adelphia.net>)

The message continues but I only posted part of it.

Anyway, the email DOES in fact get to my MobileMe account and it does show up on my phone. But then this error message also comes back to my Comcast email. I have also tried sending from my Yahoo and Gmail accounts to MobileMe and the exact same thing occurs. I also had a friend of mine who is on AT&T try to send me email to MobileMe, and she too got the same error (listed above) returned to her.

First off, I thought Comcast took over Adelphia a LONG time ago, so why is the message even still listing Adelphia as an address?

Second, does this sound like a Comcast issue or a MobileMe issue. I just want to try and track down the problem and not exactly sure where to start looking.

I've already checked to be sure my correct address is listed in my MobileMe membership. Does anyone have some idea as to what's going on here?

Thanks in advance for your help!

For this type of error, you really need to look at the email headers of the outgoing message. In your MM webmail account, click the gear above the reading pane and select preferences. Select Viewing, and check enable show long headers.

Open the email in Mobile Me. There is now an option on the right to show headers. Click it and look for the username@adelphia.com address.

My guess is that there is a mis-configuration of your email account on your mac and mail.app (or whatever you use) is using username@adelphia.com as a reply to: or From: address.

Thank you so much for your reply. I checked the headers as you suggested and there is nothing listed with the "adelphia.net" address.

I sent 4 test emails in total to MobileMe, one from comcast, gmail, yahoo, and my friend sent one from AT&T. The Adelphia name does not appear in any of the headers in MobileMe. I also checked my settings on my Mac and everything is listed as it should be as a Comcast.net account. I've never gotten any error messages PRIOR to MobileMe. When it was still .Mac, there were no errors of any kind.

Could there be something hidden that I'm not able to see? Any other suggestions?
