So my renewal went through for MobileMe as $111.54 rather than $99. Even with 7% sales tax for living in Pennsylvania, it's still less than $111.54. How's this possible? What exactly is Apple charging for MM??

Who pays the full $99 renewal rate when they're readily available at Amazon for $69?

I noticed the same pre-authorization amount when I originally purchased a MobileMe subscription.. It will change to a $99.00 charge when it actually posts to your account.

Yeah I still see it as $111.54, but got a receipt from Apple showing $99. I keep seeing rumors about MobileMe going free. I hope not for at least 364 more days. LOL...

Starting to think the FREE idea is all wishful thinking.

Talked to another Apple Employee yesterday and she just said they have discountinued selling the boxed MM in the stores since it's less expensive to just sell it on line. No packaging and all that to put a piece of cardboard in a box with a code on it. No printing costs. No shipping cost. No nothing.

She said it's still available for purchase online...but I am assuming the purchase offer is after you get the trial as I don't see a "purchase" option anywhere on Apple.com.

This makes sense to me as there seems little advantage to Apple to have people buying it at Amazon for less then in the Apple Store or on Apple.com. Might piss off some customers though.

Dayum.

well the charge of $99 went through, no $111...said i was hoping MM would go free sorta..

That happened to me. I forgot to deselect the auto renew. And then Apple charged me $99 plus tax and another charge of $99. The total price showed up on my acct. When the second charge came in, my bank treated it as a second item.
