I signed up for a free trail, I'd like to cancel, but every time I try logging on to me.comI'm brought to me.com/find with no options to cancel my account. I only get the option to log in to my apple ID to change my address etc. Any ideas of what I need to do?

You can't "cancel" or close the account upfront. To get rid of the account you need 45 days.

However, you don't need to wait to prevent the $99 charge. Just go to payment options and eliminate the card or payment method on file. Then after the trial ends, your MobileMe subscription will try to pass a payment method just to fail. Then your account will enter Inactive mode for 15 days which you can access all the information (but make no changes) and keep getting emails. After those 15 days, 30 days of Dormancy start, at which point you no longer can access any info and emails sent to you are bounced back.

After the 30 days of Dormancy all data and account information is deleted.

Thanks, so how exactly do I cancel my payment option? This is all I see when I log on to my Apple ID...

You need to log in into MobileMe and do it from there.

I can only access the "find" page from MobileMe, along with a link to the apple ID sign in. Failing this an email to support is probably the only way to go. Thanks.

Sounds like you are using your Apple ID to log in, which is not your MobileMe account.

Did you have an Apple ID before, that you used in iTunes? You do NOT want to log into Me.com with that ID. Enter your entire email address that you created when you signed up for MobileMe, including the "@me.com" at the end.

Yeah, this was it. I had created two – one from the trail and one (a lite version?) from when I set up the "find my phone" function. I'd thought they were the same as they both used my main email address. Thanks for the replies :)

On mobileme; I used it for the screensharing feature and would pay for the full account, but not for €79 per year. If it was €30 I could probably justify it.

Shop around on ebay... You can buy a mobileme pack which is what they sell in retail stores... but at a cheaper price...

It contains a code which you can enter on me.com to start your subscription when your trial ends...
