MobileMe Contacts not pushing to phone

After a DFU restore and setup as new on my iPhone 4, I am unable to get MobileMe to push contacts to my device at all.

I have done erase all content and settings and tried again, got nothing.

I did not want to transition to iCloud just yet. Calendars, Mail, Bookmarks, Notes all work just fine, but contacts simply are not syncing into the phone.

Any suggestions?

having the same issue. calendar syncs fine but contacts and bookmarks won't. removed and added the account again - nothing works.
