Hi Guys,

Have just brought a new iMac as I moving out from Home. However my Contacts are on the family MacbookPro and my Calender Data is on the family iMac, both of which are synced to the MobileMe. If I were to remove the .mac account information from System Preferences and then remove the data, the contacts/calenders should still be up at MobileMe so I can sync it with the new iMac? Is my way of think correct, would it work and is there an easier way to do this?

Cheers for any help.

Yes.... thats absolutely true! Just be sure that when you sync your iMac for the first time, MMe will give you 2 options and you MUST choose "overwrite from MobileMe to Mac" not vice versa or it'll erase everything!

Other ways to achieve this are to backup your iCal and export AddressBook archive and import these in your new iMac!

Cheers Apple Ink,

Just to be on the safe side I think I'll back up my contacts and calenders as well. How would I do that?

Thanks once again
Ben

Open Address book.... In menubar File|Export|Address book Archive
Open iCal..... in menubar File|Backup iCal
