Hi there,

As a heavy iDisk users, lots of syncing and file transfers, it concerns me that the Data Transfer Details pane of MobileMe consistently says this:

You have -1.4298180981E8 KB of data transfer remaining through 07/30/2008

Where the figure is rubbish (always different), and the date of expiry is always today. My account is a top level 60GB/600GB Transfer.

Anyone else round this problem ?

I have not found this problem.

I just transferred a LOT of GB's over to it yesterday and found it went through a bit slow but it got done thankfully after 30-45 minutes which is normal for what I was bringing into iDisk

Did you even read the original post?

What does the speed of a transfer have to do with a page on me.com ?

The post is about me.com's account page showing the bandwidth usage meter incorrectly.

How do I get to the page where it tells you how much data transfer you have used?

I am on the free trial, so do I have this function?

Also is there anywhere where you can see where this allowance has come from? i.e. online browsing of the account. emails downloaded to desktop etc?

Thanks,

Chris

Go to the Account section on http://www.me.com.

There is a LINK "Details" to the right of Data Transfer.

Thanks d21mike for your reply. I can't find a "details" link, but when I goto "starage Settings" it says how much bandwidth has been used. That's a good start!! :D

Is there anyway of seeing how the bandwidth was used for example online, through Iphone, desktop etc?

I have only just signed up, is there any way to set the account up so I get emails with such info sent to me regularly, say weekly or monthly?

Thanks for your help.

Chris

The following is on the Account / Summary Page on "......me.com/account"

Look below to the right of Data Transfer - mayby you could cut/paste yours if you can't find it.

Account Details
Options
Account Type Free Trial
Expiration Date Dec 7, 2008
Data Transfer 200 GB per month (Details)

My Details: So it the Month = Aug 7,2008 Start? If so, in the last 15 days I have not used much.

Data Transfer Details
You have 199.95 KB of data transfer remaining through 08/22/2008. (Tell me more about data transfer limits.)

Usage History

Month Amount Used Service Status History
07/08 0.05 KB Date Event

I do not see a breakdown of activity. You should read the "Tell me more ...". It appears to NOT include email. So maybe only Web Client, Web Access to iDisk and your Web Site. Not really sure.

From what Apple says, it's only people accessing:

gallery.me.com/yourname
web.me.com/yourname
homepage.mac.com/yourname

It's a little unclear about your public iDisk, but they seem to be quite clear in saying that you publishing data to iDisk doesn't count.

I too have incorrect monthly data transfer info:

Course publishing data to your iDisk and people downloading it is going to count as data transfer usage!

Hmmmm, that's odd, there doesn't seem to be a "details" link.

Here's a screen shot of my account summary page -

Yeah, I have. And i uploaded some pics and then downloaded them from a browser specifically to use some bandwidth.

I can guess what it is maybe! I only signed up today. Sometime info like that only appears after 24 hours. That's probably it. I'll check tomorrow and see.

Thanks for your help! :D

Really?

Apple says differently (see picture taken from MobileMe help).

I expected the transfer limits to apply to anything you upload PLUS whatever is downloaded.

They imply that only downloads are counted (10 x 50 is 500MB, you'd make it 11 x 50 if they counted upload).

In fact, the whole article (difficult to link to) refers purely to web content:

"If you exceed your data transfer limit, any shared files, websites, blogs, or podcasts associated with your MobileMe account are turned off and service is not reinstated until the 1st or 16th of the month (Pacific Standard Time), whichever comes first."

They'd block iDisk too if they counted it.

Read what I said, 'people downloading'. I didn't mention the uploading.

I think I mis-understood your original post where you implied that iDisk usage didn't count, but Gallery's etc did.
