Hi,

I signed up for a MobileMe trial account 2-3 weeks ago. I also almost immediately to the Calendar Beta.

After using it for 2 weeks I have some questions:

1) I have setup some folders and server-side rules to automatically move certain incoming messages into these folders. The problem I seem to have is that to synchronize those new emails in the server folders with my iPhone I explicitly have to go to these folders on the iPhone. They don't seem to get pushed automatically like with my Google Apps account?

Is there only push support for the inbox and not folders?

2) Any Calendar I create on the MobileMe website shows up on the iPhone but not on iCal. In the MobileMe Sync setting on my MacBook I have checked the checkbox to sync calendars. Also in the first iCal Preferences window the checkbox to sync with MobileMe is checked.

On the Accounts tab I don't have any entry for MobileMe. Is this normal or am I supposed to add my MobileMe account here? If I do so my calendars show up in iCal but what is then the purpose of the first 2 checkbox that I described in the previous paragraph?

Thanks,

Jurgen

1, yes inbox is pushed folders are manual.

2, not sure I don't have your issue.

I agree with the prior answers. Just wanted to add.

You said Google Apps. I assume you mean via Google Sync. I agree. However, you have to say which folders you want to Sync. This is an option I hope MobileMe adds. If they do not then their Rules Folder Support is pretty useless. Windows Live is due to support Active Sync be the end of this summer (but they do not support Sub- Folders). I am interested to know if they will work the same as Google Sync since they both will use Active Sync.

I don't like Google because of the whole Labels vs. Folders Issue. However, I do like the Googe Calendars. Seems like no 1 company can put it all together. As a software developer myself it is truely frustrating. Really hope MobileMe can put it together soon.

Thanks for the answers so far. One thing that is still unclear to me however is on the configuration of iCal: do you guys have an entry in Preferences -> Accounts for MobileMe synchronization?

The only one I have there is for Google. But like i said in the first post in the sync settings of MobileMe calendar syncing is turned on? Should i manually add an entry for MobileMe of should it work without?

Thanks,

Jurgeb

Yes. I says it is defined as CalDAV. This may be different since I upgraded to the Beta. My Calendars are not listed under "On my Mac". Now they are under my MobileMe Account ID.
