I have a .mac account that is set up on a mac, an iphone and a PC. On the PC I can access with no issue as I did set it up on Outlook as an IMAP account. When I take my PC on a trip and connect to the internet either on a wireless guest network or even through a good ol' cable on client's network , my outlook play dead and tells me it cannot connect to my mail server. This is my working tool and I cannot work solely on the web version.
I suspect it is either an issue of IP address or of incoming/outgoing ports...can somebody help me ?

Thanks !!!!!

There are MANY hotels and public WiFi networks that do not allow IMAP traffic. This is your problem and there is not much you can do about it. You can switch to POP access or when you are on one of these networks, use the web client to access your mail.

I think you are right. Do you know if I could work around the problem with a cellular network access , like an att laptopconnect or some sprint connection with a mobile netword access card ?

Can I set my .mac account as a POP ? I thought I could not ...
