MobileMe refunds

Has anyone else received feedback on their refund requests?

I received an e-mail this evening saying that my refund request was complete and that I'd be receiving a check for $99 ("plus applicable taxes"). This is even though I used a code from a box purchased on Amazon for less than half of that.

How do you request a refund? I have an account that I renewed in January.. would I be eligible?

I think the refunds are only for codes that had been entered for future renewals. In my case, I'm getting a refund for a code that I had entered which would have renewed my account in September 2011.

You could always try though. The following instructions were in an e-mail sent to me from Apple shortly after the WWDC keynote.

To claim your refund:
1. Sign in to me.com.
2. Click your name in the top right and choose Account.
3. Then click Request Refund.
4. Complete the online form.

Thanks! I checked it out, and I don't have such an option. Makes sense though - they are still providing me with the service I paid for.

Sorry for the thread jack. Now to answer your question, I guess Apple's MM department doesn't know where you got the service from. Or, perhaps it would cost them less to just pay you the full amount than to pay for admin costs and segment people depending on source of activating the service..

So if I have a few codes just lying around that I haven't used, should I hurry up and use them? Is it to late? If I take them to the Apple store will they give me money back?

Why would you want to use them, MobileMe will cease to exist after 30th June 2012. They have stopped letting you redeem codes now too.

You can claim a refund on them, they won't do it in the Apple store unless you purchased them in the last 14 days.
