I really like the new OS but I am unable to get MobileMe to Sync Contacts, Calendar and Bookmarks (not sure about the new Notes). The Mail is working fine. I did enable it within the settings. I even turned them off (then said delete content for each) and then back on but it will not load.

Any body else able to get this to work?

It's...."beta".

Of course it is "beta". I am a developer and I am testing the new os. While testing I see that certain things do not work and therefore was asking if anyone else has experience the problem. I decided to ask the question here because I see a number of 4.0 users on this forum.

how did you get contacts to sync?

i just saw this post cause i was having the same problems.... my sync over the air isn't working ... just mail comes in.
no contacts
no calendar....

these two things are pretty fundamental and i hope they get to working asap

Have you tried talking to Apple about it? Remember you are a developer, you are supposed to test the OS out with your apps and report any OS bugs back to Apple. This is a case of such bug. Do what you are meant to be doing.

talk to apple how?

sorry, just i'm still new as a developer... who would i contact at apple to talk to them? I don't imagine it'd be the regular customer support... nor do i want to use my free 2 incidences for this

Yes, I posted the bug on the developers forum. I recently heard back from them and they want me to to provide more information. The information they want is not going to help in my opinon. Anyway, I do have everything working now (I think). I added FETCH EVERY 15 MIN instead of just PUSH and now I am getting everything. Maybe they are having some kind of problem with PUSH. I also have an account with Google Sync (Exchange) and was having a similar but not exactly the same problem.

It appears, based on a couple of posts to my thread that some of you feel that iPhone OS 4 questions should not be in this forum since it is a beta release. It would be nice to hear from MacRumors Admin if this is a restriction. I would be suprised if it is since I see a lot of treads based on OS 4 and they are not being removed.

Developer related questions would probably receive more attention in the iPhone programming section of the forum.

Plus I just don't see how something like this, which is really matter of working or not working can be discussed.

--- maybe it's just my mentality from windows... but the discussion should be why it's not working and what workarounds there are? shouldn't someone be able to take it apart and research? i'm far too new to know...

This is why I said, "it's beta". This is a core function of 4.0 and it's on Apple's own MobileMe. So if it isn't working without any tampering, then it is a bug and it should be reported to Apple. Why would you want to waste time to see why it isn't working and try to discover a workaround? It should work and it will work, anything else is simply a bug that Apple is responsible for.

Since it doesn't reveal anything new, I guess I can comment.

It works perfectly for me. First time I set it up, contacts, calendars, and mail all came in. Received mail through Push just like it should.

But if it's not working for you, then there must be something wrong.
