We all know about MobileME, the extraordinary web service from Apple that make all your information in a Mac, PC and iPhone/iPod touch SYNC together. Calendar, Contacts, Email, Photos and much more. The Service is $99/year for a Individual subscription and $149/year a Family Pack subscription.

In the other hand you have Microsoft My Phone, is a FREE web service that let you back up your phone automatically, share photos, access your contacts, text messages and more and also locate your lost phone.

Now you have some down site with both of the services, MobileMe is for the iPhone and iPod touch only and My Phone is for Windows Phones only.

Your point?

Im sorry but I don't what happen with the rest of my post.

My point is that Apple, Microsoft and now Google are in a competition of the mobile devices. But at the same time the competition of the cloud, the three companies trying to sync

HOME MOBILE WORK

Apple so far had done it but like alway $$$ on front.
Microsoft copy/paste, and is doing it good.
Google so far is trying.

But what we really need is that cloud service for FREE, and the communication between any device (iphone, windows phone or android).

Or you can go to 1and1.com and get an Microsoft Exchange account for 6.99 a month, then you have everything in the cloud and it syncs from phone to PC/Mac, PC/MAC to phone. To me its the best way to do it in place of paying the 99.00 for Mobile Me.

So your point is that you want a syncing service that does everything for everyone for free. If you think this would be a viable business plan, by all means go ahead and create it.

I would rather pay 15 more dollars a year and have my Macs/iPhone integrated with MM. Besides I like knowing that I can host a site and use remote storage as well as find my iPhone feature.

So I save $1.26 per month, and for that amount I lose:

* Safari bookmark syncing
* Keychain syncing across computers
* Dock, dashboard, and system preferences syncing across computers
* iPhoto/Aperture integration with MobileMe galleries (which I prefer over sites like Flickr)
* Back to my Mac (a BIG one)
* Locate my iPhone

So if I give all that up I'll have just enough money to buy a Snickers bar each month!

Hmmm...

But that's me. Now, I understand if someone doesn't want all those things. But I would tell THAT person to get g-mail and google calendars and to sync everything with that free service (using Exchange) instead of wasting $6.99 per month.

Some people don't have the 100.00 at once to put down but can afford the 6.99 a month, I didn't say it was necessarily better, but it's just another option. I think if I had a Mac I would go with MobileMe but I'm a happy Windows 7 user and MS Exchange works for me across all my phones.

I see what you're saying though, with a Mac you get much more functionality with MobileMe.

Well if you use 1and1 you also get a domain name with your exchange account, so really for 6.99 you get an E-Mail Account and Domain. I've thought about switching to Mobile Me before just for the find my iphone feature but in the end i decided against it.

$6.99 = $84 a year.

MobileMe on Amazon is, right now, $71.49.

I gave up MS Exchange for Mobile ME. I was satisfied enough with the 60 day trial period that I just payed up at the end. I was with Mail2Web for $9.99 monthly and even though Mobile ME is a higher up front payment of $99 a year. It's cheaper and offers more than exchange on the Iphone. Plus I can still Sync my Contacts, Notes, Calendar, etc: with my PC Outlook.

Hey, I'm not saying it's better or anything but for some people who cant put down 100 at once, it's another option for you. I'm a college student, if I could pay 6.99 a month for Mobile Me I would more than likely have it but I cant drop 100 at once right now or even 71.00.

I have always wondered why Apple doesn't do a monthly payment plan.

If that's the case then why did you suggest a $6.99 service instead of the free Google services? Go with the free one if cost is the determining factor.
