This story is completely awesome.

I have a family pack for MM. I wanted one of the family account emails, lets say new@me.com to become the primary. I then wanted my current primary, old@me.com to become a subaccount in the family pack. I contacted web chat support and he said that It was possible, he would issue my bank account a credit, and we would cancel my MobileMe account, and then recreate it, first using the new@me.com email. That way, It wouldnt cost me anything. Fine, lets do it.

Problems happened when trying to login in using the new@me.com account, So we ended up just having to resign up with old@me.com. Complete waste of time. Problem was he only credited my account w/ a $38.57 credit. I was charged to sign up again for MobileMe, and again to get back to being a Family Account. Oh, and charged again for $56.33 for what I have no idea..

Charged
$100+$50+56.33-38.57=167.76

I'm out $167.76 now.

I contacted web support a second time, and they said there was no way for them to refund me the money I was owed. $166. She said I had to go back to the store where I originally purchased my .Mac/MobileMe back in May to get a refund. IN MAY!

I said to you her, "do you understand how ridiculous this is?" She goes, "yes, do you have any more questions regarding MobileMe?" She Logs off.

Thanks alot Web Chat!

MobileMe is making Apple look worse and worse with all the problems and overcharges they've inflicted on customers. I haven't seen such a bungled product launch since Cuil.

It's a shame that the web support is not as good as the telephone support. Is it possible to call Apple about your situation? That may help...

I called but they don't have MobileMe phone support, I had to explain the situation to someone not familiar with MM. After about an hour he said to expect an email from a "Tier II" Mobile Me support tech. I didn't want to get off the phone without my money back but he said he went as far as he could.

The whole thing blows. I'm the kind of Apple guy that got all his friends to get macbooks and iPhones and everything. It sucks when you end up getting the shaft.

I'm sure that guy will never email me.
