Hello mates,

Newbie to this forum but not a noob when it comes to hardware..

So I picked up this 21.5 incher for $50 and everything works fine. Except I can see artifacts and discoloration starting to appear on the screen at times. I have read through the entire 60 page thread on the GPU's with these bad boys. And heres my planned upgrade

- Quadro K2000 GPU 2GB
- I7-2600S (lower power supply on the 21.5)
- 32 GB Ram ( 12 installed currently)
- 500 GB SSD
- Partition drive (High Sierra/Mojave)

My question to you guys... is it worth it? Do you think the GPU will be able to render the footage? it will mostly be from a GoPro Hero 7 so lower bitrate. Probably just use iMovie since it accepts 4k now.

even with those upgrades I feel I'd be under $500.

$500 is way too much for a 2011 model. The biggest let down is USB2 which is as slow as a snail. To install Mojave on a 20112 model you have to turn it into a hackintosh. The plus is it is easier to get into than the glued screen models which followed, and comes with TB.

If you want to do 4k, you're going to need something newer and more powerful.

"that is all..."
