I have a dead 2010 MBP and I would like to repurpose the display. To purchase a controller board on ebay I need the model number of the LCD display (not the Apple part number of the unibody display + camera + case). After considerable searching, I have only found the model number of the standard resolution glossy display (iFixit mentions the 1680x1050 display under "specifications" here, but the two models given there, LP154WP3-TLA3 and LP154WP4-TLA1, are both listed as 1440x900 on PanelLook).

Does anyone know the model number for this display? Or if anyone still has a working mid-2010 MBP with the 1680x1050 matte display and you’re feeling generous, you could follow the instructions here to find the model number. Quoting that link:

ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6
