I've only recently had iPhones that come with a model-specific wallpaper by default. Before that, every iPhone or iPad I've ever had has come with whatever wallpaper was the stock wallpaper for that version of iOS. If I was to do a wipe, or even a DFU restore of an iPhone or iPad that had one of those model-specific wallpapers, does it come back as the default? If not the default, is it there to select? I'm curious.

I'd assume the model-specific wallpapers are part of iOS for that model.

That would make too much sense! :p

I've yet to do it on my iPhone XR and I'm probably going to have to in the next couple of days. Was mainly curious if there was info about this anywhere. I haven't been able to find any. I know Apple used to bake that stuff into the firmware of the iMac G3s so that Mac OS 9 would show a system specific wallpaper by default back in the day. I also know that they did something similar on the iPod touches in iOS 7 through iOS 15. Wasn't sure if these were any different.
