Has anyone played modern combat domination from the mac store? Do you recommend buying it for 13 bucks for someone that just wants to play an online fps?

This is on sale right now for $0.99.

Great deal at the discount price.

Now that I have played it, $13 isn't too bad either if you're a fan of the genre.

I've played it. I just wish you could save it at a certain level .

What do mean by "save it at a certain level?"

It's an online FPS without a campaign mode.

Or, have I just not yet found the campaign mode?

For $0.99, it's a great deal. Though I wouldn't have paid more than $10 for it. While it's great that Mac now has a pretty decent FPS for cheap, there are some downsides to MCD.

IMO, the hit marker system is a bit flawed. Seems flaky.
Guns bought for a particular round are lost as soon as you die. Makes sense, right? Well... very few players opt to buy expensive guns because of this. In my matches today, I'd say over 80% of players used the basic pistol or "splurged" on the cheapest SMG. Everyone uses the exact same guns.
No in-game voice or text chat.

But, buy it now for less than one dollar! It's worth it.

I wish you could keep your guns and that you could use voice chat.

Guns only lasting until your next spawn was weird to get used to at first but once you get used to the purchasing system prior to each spawn then it makes sense.

As you level up, you get better default weapons.

The current GameLoft games - MCD, NOVA, Let's Golf, etc - are all on sale for $0.99 and that is a great deal for them. They are clones of 'real' games and ported from iPad, but they work quite well. I think I like NOVA better than Halo :)
