Hi guys!

After the flawless update (clean install) to Mojave (thanks TSIALEX) my magic mouse is getting slow in some moments...
I ‘ve tried delete the Bluetooth preferences and mouse, reset the Bluetooth module (Debug) and reset SMC but nothing really solved ...
I didn’t had this problem on High Sierra ... Or previous OS...

Is there any incompatibility or bug with the Mac Pro Bluetooth board on Mojave?

Has Mojave changed anything on Bluetooth that may be causing this problem? Maybe Bluetooth power...

The only different thing I did was to replace the original video card with the Quatro K5000. Maybe the size of the K5000 is disturbing the Bluetooth signal...

I've always heard about MP and Bluetooth problems. But it was never a problem for me, my mouse always worked fine ... Until I installed Mojave ... very strange ...
I don’t have any PCIe USB3 card installed !

Any clue?

(MacPro 8 cores 5.1, Nvidea QUADRO K5000 for Mac, 32 GB RAM, Samsung 860 EVO. Firmware 141.0.0.0.0)

I am also using the original Magic Mouse in Mojave. No issue so far, the Link Quality stay at 100%.

But I have a BT4.2 / Wifi ac card. Not sure if that make any difference.

If feels like interference, the first thing I will try is switch OFF 2.4GHz wifi.

Thanks! But you have one better card... Mine still the original...
What puzzles me is that before the Mojave update and Nvidea K5000 this problem did not happen...

Bluetooth problems are tricky, my upstairs neighbor has a HP printer that completely trashes all my Mac Pro BT signals when in use. Took me months to identify what was happening with my Magic Mouse and trackpad.

Sometimes you just can’t win.

Maybe one external antenna will solve my Bluetooth problem ... What do you guys think?
[doublepost=1559418638][/doublepost]I would love to install a more modern Bluetooth card but here in Brazil these things are kind of hard and expensive to find ...

Thanks guys!
I’ll try the external antena Solution!
Does anyone know the correct size of the internal cable (card to PCI metal port? I do not find any of 60cm or 50cm... 25cm works?

Hi Guys!... I've tried the Antenna upgrade and took care to buy the right one, but my MM1 still with an uncomfortable lag!

Is it with it to change the Bluetooth card? maybe for a BT4.0 for Mac Pro 4/5.1?
If yes, please tell me why you buy!

Or is it better an external dongle BT??

Here's a pic with my bluetooth status!

This is driving me insane!

thanks in advance!

Dongle! That approach has worked great for me with three Cheesegraters to date. I connect the dongle to a wired Apple keyboard, so it is immediately adjacent to my mouse and trackpad. I also disconnect the cable powering the internal bluetooth chip to avoid interference. Currently in my studio, the dongle is a Logitech-specific variety that works great with my Logitech MX Master mouse.

Try point the antenna to a direction that 90 degree offset to the MM (please google how antenna work, the and study where the effective area is).

In general, keep the RSSI at or below -60 will give you flawless experience for MM1, -76 is a bit too low.

Of course if you can place the antenna nearer to the mouse will also help.

Hi!... thank again for answering!!
I've tried every position but still always at -76(the best I've got)

How did you upgrade to Mojave ? I did a FULL 6.05gb fresh, clean install.
There have been quite a few reports of people experiencing problems after having done the Combo + Supplemental upgrade In fact Apple released a slightly bigger ( 6.05gb) install very shortly after the first full, final release. I wonder why ?

I use a dongle but absolutely no B.T. or any other problems in Mojave 10.14.6

Might be worth trying the above " fresh, clean FULL install " on a spare SSD.

Good Luck.

Here is what I did. It keeps me connected 10 meters away.

IOGEAR Bluetooth 4.0 USB Multi-Language Version Micro Adapter, GBU521W6

Hi!
I did the full install of 10.14.6 directly on a 970 pro M.2 Drive with a Highpoint NVMe PCI card!
Well, I'm not specialist, but MM has always worked very well, and Mojave was full installed!
I wonder what could be the problem! ;-(

Since I have already installed the external antena on the back plate, I'll go first for the option from #Black Ninja Original..! with the extension Antenna!

Saves my very low skills on programming a new BT device... :)

Not sure if you have the correct combination. RP SMA female shouldn't able to match SMA female.

Can you identify which two connectors you have according to the above picture?

The BT dongle solves a lot of problems.

I thought that BT was omni-directional? Am I mistaken?

I have an upgraded card and antenna. But I still have found the mouse to be "sensitive."
If the system is bogged for some reason with IO traffic or something hanging the mouse becomes jittery and unresponsive while the Magic Pad has no issues. Both are BLE.
I also found that the Razr driver for their mice makes things worse under Mojave and removed it.
