MP 1,1-5,1 Mojave now booting with non-metal cards?

I needed to disable SIP on my 5,1 running Mojave and without thinking swapped out my RX580 for a GT120 and did the necessary in recovery mode and rebooted and it did, with only the GT120 installed.

I did however notice it was listed as a separate display:-

It will boot, but UI will not be accelerated. It's barely useable for more than a few minutes.

You can:
reboot in recovery with cmd-r
Boot an USB Installer Stick
Boot an USB Stick with DosDude Installer

To disable sip, no need to change GPUs

OK cheers guys, I'm sure a little while ago it simply wouldn't boot if there was a non-metal card in there?

I believe it would not install without a metal compatible card.
Mojave has always ran without metal, just not very well.
