Mojave supported Macs?

I watched WWDC yesterday and I swear I heard that any Mac currently running High Sierra will be capable of running Mojave. Why am I reading online about people with 2010-2011 Macs that claim they aren't getting Mojave? I have a late 2011 and I read public beta is out later this month. Am I missing something?

iOS devices running iOS 11 are all supported with iOS 12.

macOS stopped supporting everything before mid-2012 except for the 2010 Mac Pro.

No, I was just responding to the typo in @Glmnet1 's post. He meant to say "before mid-2012".

No, they actually didn't mention which Macs will be supported by Mojave during the Keynote (that info was released after the Keynote), they did say that all devices which are supported by iOS 11 will be supported by iOS 12 so maybe that is what you heard. It's true that most of the pre-2012 macs are not supported by Mojave.

I got a 2011 Mac a month ago to look into app development. Xcode won't be usable unless I upgrade to Mojave. Cool. Now I need a new Mac... Again
I see that there is development devoted to getting new software onto older Macs. I'm still disappointed that a seven year old laptop is dropped. It honestly doesn't make sense to me. I saw older Macs and have read on here that 2008-2009/10 Macs are running High Sierra. Is it possible my 16gb RAM 1TB MacBook Pro from early 2011 can run Mojave?

My MacBook Air 2010 ran Mojave since the release of that OS and thanks to dosdude's patcher.
I wen back to El Capitan this autumn because Mojave somehow slowed the MBA down recently.
