I've been an Apple user since the 1980s and an iPhone user since the first week in 2007, and for the first time ever, I've skipped an entire version of both the OS and the iOS. (I was on the road for about nine months straight, and then, when I was about to take the plunge, I saw people still complaining about bugs in the new Music app and some email issues in Catalina, so I kept holding off.)
I understand there were some fairly big changes from Mojave to Catalina when it comes to the Music app, and I really don't want, e.g., album art for ~12,000 songs to go AWOL. Doing that job once was plenty.
What do the experts here suggest? Should I go straight from Mojave to Big Sur (when released) or should I upgrade to Catalina first as an interim update? Is the Music app better in Big Sur than it seems to be in Catalina? Is there anything I should beware of when upgrading to Big Sur from Mojave?
Thanks very much.
