My mom has had an SE since launch. Considering she’s in her mid 60s now, it’s too hard for her to see it easily. She wants to move on to a 7 or an 8.

The price Apple charges is a bit high in my opinion. Are there any reliable eBay sellers who sell new in box phones for a good price they aren’t scammers or selling open box phones as new? Anything but a 7/8 is out, because the newer phones are all too big for her.

I have plenty of experience with swappa, but my mom would prefer something new as opposed to used. Just curious if there are any reliable resellers on eBay that offer decent deals? Otherwise, I will suggest she buys a new or refurb from Apple.

In my humble opinion, the answer is no. Bite the bullet and buy your Mom a brand new iPhone 8 from Apple and also get her Applecare Plus. :apple::)

There's a sale (in the US with Metro carrier), selling the iPhone 7 at $49 dls, it's a brand new device but on prepay. At the end you pay like $120 with Taxes and activation, and also you have to port your number. The sale is only at store, if you find one iPhone 7  That's the cheapest I saw (I want an iPhone for my mom too!)

The problem with Metro is that I couldn't find one iPhone 7 in SoCal  hahaha so I'm waiting for the keynote next month, the iPhones will drop on price.

your mom knows best is always better a new phone because you don’t know in which condition you receive it so my advice is give your mother a brand new phone as she deserves i would go for a new iphone 7 is so good and is not that expensive than 8

Wait until Apple releases new models next month and then the 8 will drop in price.

Indeed. And unlike having to pre-order and wait for new phones to show up, the old phones are available for the lower price on the day of the announcement.

Based on rumors we are about 2 weeks away.

I agree, even if you manage to buy it for less on a sales site it's not worth the risk... try buying one with less memory if she won't be using a tone of apps and just look out for sales

This. It will be Apples new entry level iPhone discounted with the arrival of the latest iPhones to be announced shortly. (Also, I would avoid Swappa/eBay, purchasing direct from Apple/carriers is a ‘safer bet.’)
